KIDS CAFÉ MISSION
To provide balanced, nutritious meals to help children at risk help themselves through positive learning experiences to improve their quality of life and their future.

GOALS:
To motivate and empower communities to form an alliance of partners to respond to the problem of childhood hunger,
To provide additional learning experiences for at-risk children in an after-school setting,
To provide a nutritiously adequate meal to at-risk children,
To provide nutrition education to children and their parents,
To expand KIDS CAFÉ to all children in need on the Virginia Peninsula.

WHAT?
The New Life KIDS CAFÉ is a structured after-school program that promotes health, education and safety.  It operates as a result of commitments from a partnership of non-profit organizations, schools, individuals and the Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula.

WHY?
The New Life Community Development Center and its partners believe that:

Children should experience success, safety and the opportunity to reach their fullest potential,
Nurturing children fosters the growth of healthy communities

WHO?
A targeted population of at-risk children between the ages of 5-17 who can benefit from additional nutritious meals and educational experiences.

WHERE?
The New Life KIDS CAFÉ is located in the Wythe Area of Hampton, Virginia where the targeted population is within walking distance of the New Life facility.  The New Life facility is clean, secure and adequately staffed.

OPERATION:
The New Life KIDS CAFÉ operates under the direction of the New Life Community Development Center.  Along with an evening meal, we offer a variety of activities through our PROJECT S.O.U.L. such as tutoring, mentoring, life skills training and nutrition education.
